Acupuncture Treatment
Acupuncture originates from China and has been practiced for thousands of years before becaming popular during the second half of the twentieth century in the United States. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles, to various depths through the patient's skin, at specific points on the body. These points are located along 14 main paths, called channels or meridians, which cover the body. Based on the concept that a vital energy called Qi (“chee”) travels along these pathways, illness or pain occurs when this energy flow is blocked or weakened. Stimulating acupuncture points along the meridian restores the balance in the body, helping to relieve symptoms and promote wellness.
Herbal Therapy
Herbal medicine, also called botanical medicine or phytomedicine, refers to using a plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes. Herbal medicine is used to treat many conditions, that a patient might seek out treatment from their primary care, and it is becoming more mainstream. Although herbal medicine is well received by patients due to minimal side effects with positive outcomes, Herbal supplements are best taken under the guidance of a trained health care provider.
Cupping
Cupping is a technique used in Traditional Chinese Medicine in which special cups are placed on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, relaxation, well-being, and blood flow in order to promote healing.
Gua Sha
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow to promote healing. Gua sha is sometimes referred to as "spooning" or "coining" by English speakers.
